Harwood Neighbourhood Council / Good Neighbour Agreement

In the fall of 2012 the Society started working with the community in the creation of the Harwood Neighbourhood Council in order to address concerns of the neighbourhood about an addictions recovery program (Bill’s Place). Multiple community meetings were held to ensure opportunity for community input was available. By the spring of 2013 the Good Neighbour Agreement and Neighbourhood Security Plan were in place. The Council had expanded the scope of the Neighbourhood Council to include issues around traffic calming and parking. No complaints from the community have ever been made regarding Bill’s Place since it opened. The Society served on the Harwood Neighbourhood Council until 2014 when the committee decided to disband.
