This position presents an exciting opportunity to grow with an established and growing non-profit and to support a powerful mandate and mission. The Fund Development Coordinator reports to the CEO and will shape, execute, and administer our exciting fund development plans and capital projects. While acting as an ambassador for Turning Points Collaborative Society in the community, the Fund Development Coordinator will take a donor-centric approach to attract new supporters to our organization.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
In collaboration with the CEO and the Executive Team, you will be responsible for:
Donor Solicitation & Management
Lead fundraising efforts in new individual donor identification, securing new and renewed gifts, and strengthening relationships with existing donors
Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective corporate partners
Pursue funding opportunities with foundations
Maintain donor databases, including detailed records of all donor interactions
Develop and enhance promotion and recognition tools, including preparing quarterly and annual impact reports to share with donors
Develop and implement strategies for planned giving
Manage the writing, design and production of stewardship materials, such as donor thank-you letters, emails and prospectuses, and donor impact reports
Ensure accurate donor lists and proper donor recognition in all publications
Ensure timely and personal appreciation and recognition is completed
Grant and Proposal Writing, Management & Reporting
Find and track relevant grant opportunities from foundations, government, corporations and other funding sources
Write effective proposals/applications that display exceptional attention to detail and captivating storytelling
Work with project leads to track project deliverables and reporting deadlines and coordinate preparation and delivery of interim and final reports
Work closely with project leads to ensure appropriate project implementation is achieved and grant requirements are met
Development Goal Planning & Tracking
Collaborate in the design and lead the implementation of multi-faceted fundraising goals and plans including: major gifts, grants, corporate partnerships, foundation donations, and individual giving campaigns
Track, report on progress and provide performance analysis for above goals and plans
Proven track record using data to drive decision-making
Exceptional communication (writing, interpersonal, and presentation) skills, with the ability to effectively persuade and inspire others
Planning & data analysis skills: experience setting goals, monitoring progress, and meeting deadlines
Exceptional fundraising and networking skills
University degree/diploma in a related discipline or an equivalent combination of training and experience, plus a demonstrated ongoing commitment to professional development
Knowledge of the non-profit sector and CRA fundraising rules and guidelines
CFRE designation – completed or in progress – is considered a significant asset
Understanding of the issues surrounding homelessness, unemployment, mental health, drug and alcohol dependence and harm reduction
Familiarity with community resources; such as addiction, mental health, income assistance, and harm reduction
